- Double-click the margin to create and edit a header or footer; F11 and View ▸ Window carry full screen.
- Fonts embedded in a .docx lay out and export their text instead of substituting blindly.
- PAGEREF in a header or footer resolves to its bookmark's page, and TOC entries carry their headings' list numbers.
- Alt+numpad character codes work, and Review ▸ Language reaches every proofing language.

Source, licence and building

Does WordCraft open .docx without breaking formatting?
It targets native .docx compatibility, which is the reason to run a conversion test on your own templates: fields, section breaks and embedded objects are where documents drift.
Can my team collaborate?
Through shared drives and file handoff, not live cursors. If real-time co-authoring is load-bearing, keep the incumbent for those documents.
Is it a LibreOffice replacement too?
It is a separate project with a different licence (Apache-2.0 vs MPL-2.0) and a deliberately familiar ribbon UI; compare both before deciding.
