In the maintainer's words
“PdfCraft: An open-source PDF reader and editor written by scratch in pure Rust”— repository description, github.com/storytold/pdfcraft
These are the workflow areas the project targets. Implementation status changes release to release — confirm against the repository before relying on a specific behaviour.
Summarised from the release notes upstream published on 2026-10-18. Read the full list on the PdfCraft v0.9.0 release page ↗.
PdfCraft is distributed by its own maintainers through GitHub releases. Nothing here is re-hosted, mirrored or repackaged, which is exactly why these links stay current when a new build lands.
PdfCraft v0.9.0 · upstream GitHub releases
Files are served by GitHub from the upstream repository — this project is not distributed through this site. Verify the download against SHA256SUMS.txt in the same release.

The repository carries the licence text, issue tracker and release notes. Apache-2.0 permits commercial use, modification and redistribution with attribution notices preserved. If you prefer to compile it yourself, clone the repo and follow its README for the pinned Rust toolchain.
Redaction is being hardened rather than finished: v0.9.0 bounds and reuses repeated redaction overlays, and upstream measures searchable OCR against a 300 DPI synthetic scan. Do not trust a visual black box — export, then run a text extractor over the result and confirm the content is gone before you send anything.
The release ships pdfcraft-cli for macOS universal plus Linux x86_64 and aarch64 tarballs, which is what scripted and batch work uses. There is no hosted PDF API.
Form filling is in scope; submit-to-server behaviour on exotic forms should be tested per document.
